Third graders receive dictionaries from Mad River Rotary Club

NORTHERN HUMBOLDT - Over two days, hundreds of third graders had a very special visit from the Mad River Rotary Club.

The Club hosts an annual valentines event that’s all about giving. They gift brand-new dictionaries to every 3rd grader from McKinleyville to Orick.

Mad River Rotary has been around for 25 years but prides itself in this tradition, that’s continued for over a decade.

Morris Elementary was one school visited Friday and students were surprised and appreciative of their new dictionaries.

"Well I feel we're lucky to be able to have the money to do it and I hope it will continue forever. It makes me feel just wonderful and excuse me I get emotional, and the kids are so appreciative of getting them," said a Mad River Rotary Club member.
