Thousands of dollars in counterfeit money found in Fortuna home
FORTUNA- Three people were arrested after police found $2,000 worth of counterfeit money at a home in Fortuna. Officers said they found the money at a home on the 3900 block of Rhonerville Road in Fortuna. Brittany Waltrip, 19, Jeremy Herman, 22 and Kim Huse were arrested Sunday night after officers found counterfeit 100 and 20-dollar bills. They also found a computer, a printer, and other equipment allegedly used to manufacture the currency. The investigation was launched after officers began to notice an increased number of incidents involving counterfeit money. All three suspects were taken to the Humboldt County Jail.
