Arcata Police have arrested three in connection to the stabbing death of a 50 year-old Arcata man. Sophie Buttercup Rocheleau, 24, Nicholas Benjamin Stoiber, 28, and Juan Joseph Ferrer, 35, all of Arcata were arrested on charges of Homicide.
An alleged fight broke out between the three arrested and the victim, Douglas Allen Andrson-Jordet, said Arcata Police Department Chief Tom Chapman. Chapman said it is unknown at this time who stabbed Anderson-Jordet. Chapman said he was positive that all three are connected in the case and are aware that Anderson-Jordet was stabbed.
Stoiber and Rocheleau were brought into the Arcata Police Department Tuesday night for questioning and were arrested on scene without incident. Ferrer was arrested on the 1000 block of Samoa Blvd.
Chapman said all three were identified in security footage obtained from a downtown store that show the three walking together in the same direction as Anderson-Jordet before the assault is believed to have occurred.
After police released information regarding the homicide a tip came in that reported a fight broke out downtown with multiple people involved.
All three are members of the Arcata punk scene with Stoiber a resident of a local house show venue.
Anderson-Jordet was found unresponsive by Arcata Police at 1:25 a.m. Nov. 25. An autopsy revealed he had died from a single stab to the heart.
