EUREKA- When people say they’re taking their pet for a walk, you usually think of a dog. But that was not the case on Saturday in downtown Eureka.

Jack Lincoln the turkey was outside of Los Bagels Saturday celebrating the first day of November. His owner, Nick Eads says he trained turkey to be gentle and friendly. He likes to take jack out on holidays and enjoys meeting people who stop to chat and pet the friendly turkey. While outside of the store several dozen people stopped to feed and take pictures with jack. Eads says jack is his third trained turkey and has been taking them out on the town for six years now. Despite the upcoming turkey-eating season he says the public’s response has been overwhelmingly positive.
