Trial pushed back for man accused of Eureka priest murder
EUREKA- The trial date has been pushed back for Gary Bullock, the Redway man accused of murdering a Eureka priest. He will now face trial in November.
The attorney for 44-year-old Gary Lee Bullock requested that his trial date be pushed back to allow defense investigators more time on the case. Bullock was previously scheduled to go to trial August 4th.
He is accused of murdering father Eric Freed inside the Saint Bernard rectory in the early morning hours of January 1st.
Deputies arrested him the next day after surveillance footage from the rectory showed bullock wandering the area and breaking through a side window to Freed’s home.
Bullock is being charged with three felony counts… one for murder, vehicle theft and attempted arson. He’s also facing two special allegations of residential burglary and torture.
