TRINIDAD- The holidays are fully underway in Trinidad. The town held an all day holiday event Sunday and lit their Christmas tree.

The tree was lit at Trinidad's Art Gallery just after dark. It is a unique tree, that is carved in the shape of a top hat in honor of Ned Simmons, the man who donated the space to the gallery.

Simmons passed away in 2011 and the tree is a way to honor him and his legacy.
