Two arrested in alleged home invasion robbery and theft of vehicle
Carlotta - Two people have been arrested after an alleged home invasion robbery in Carlotta. Arrested were 20-year-old Javier Talavera of Carlotta and 42-year-old Anna Marie Crowl of Fortuna.
Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 6000 block of Highway 36 in Carlotta after a reporting party informed law enforcement their neighbor’s jeep was missing. On arrival, deputies also found jewelry, firearms, a television, tools and appliances stolen as well. The jeep was found five days later and a receipt found in the vehicle led investigators to a Eureka store that had surveillance video that implicated Talavera and Crowl.
When deputies conducted a probation search at their residence, the victim’s stolen items were found. Talavera and Crowl were arrested and booked into the Humboldt County jail on possession of stolen property, theft of a motor vehicle and violation of probation.
