Two arrested in Hydesville with 174 pounds of marijuana
Two men from Willits were arrested in Hydesville after Sheriff’s Deputies found one hundred seventy four pounds of marijuana in their bus.
At around 7:30 AM March 25th, the Sheriff’s Office received a call of possible illegal camping at the corner of Rocksprings Road and Johnson Road in Hydesville. Deputies found a gray International bus parked and questioned the driver, 29-year old Michael Barney McBride. Deputies noticed a strong smell of marijuana emanating from the bus and asked McBride if he had any marijuana in the vehicle. McBride said, he had about an eighth of an ounce. When deputies asked him again, he said maybe there was more than that. Officials found approximately one hundred seventy four pounds more. The deputy detained McBride. A passenger was also detained who falsely identified himself as Joseph Edwards. He was found to be 29 year old Joseph Nicholas Moosreiner, wanted for parole violation in Wisconsin.
Both were arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Jail for cultivation and possession of marijuana. Moosreiner is being held without bail.
