EUREKA-College of the Redwoods Board of Trustees will considering closing two instructional sites for the upcoming 2014-15 school year. President Kathy Smith is recommending that the instructional sites in Garberville and Fort Bragg close to cut on costs.
In a recommendation prepared by Smith she suggest closing the sites due to the decreased enrollment and dwindling budget. "As revenues decline, classes and services must be delivered in more cost-effective and efficient ways," said the staff report.
At the board meeting trustees will also review staffing and program needs at the Klamath-Trinity Instructional Site, the Del Norte Education Center and the Eureka Main Campus.
