Two earthquakes hit 25 miles Southwest of Ferndale

FERNDALE- Some residents in Ferndale were jolted awake early Wednesday morning after two earthquakes just 25 miles away.

The first quake hit around 2:38 a.m. Southwest of Ferndale . It registered as a magnitude 3.4. Just six minutes later, another quake in the same location. The second tremor registered as a 4.3 on the Richter Scale. Both earthquakes were about 10 miles deep.

Wednesday's quakes add up to a total of six so far this year. The largest of those was a magnitude 5.4 on New Years Day.
