EUREKA- The Eureka Police Department used GPS technology to track and arrest two Eureka residents for possession of stolen property. The two suspects were arrested after police found dozens of stolen items in their motel room.
Officers with the EPD responded to a report of a residential burglary on the 2000 block of Albee Street just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. There, they learned one of the stolen items was equipped with a GPS locator, indicating that it was at the 800 block of Broadway. Officers made contact with 47-year-old Cyle Abbott and 23-year-old Jenae Loyd there and located the stolen items from the burglary as well as other suspected stolen property. Along with the possession of stolen property charge for both suspects, Loyd was also charged with drug offenses. The EPD is currently working to match the items with stolen property reports.
