Two members of Humboldt Bay Fire receive promotions
EUREKA- Two members of Humboldt Bay Fire received promotions at a ceremony at Thursday night’s Humboldt Bay Fire board meeting.
Stefan Rheinschmidt has been with the department since 2009 and competed with three other firefighters to be promoted to engineer. Brooks Conner has been with the department since 2002, when he started as a volunteer. He was an engineer and promoted to captain Thursday night after competing with four other engineers. To receive the promotion, these members of the fire department had to study, train and be tested during a several month process. The Fire Chief of Humboldt Bay Fire, Fire Chief Ken Woods, says these promotions were well deserved.
"Their heart is in the fire service and they want to provide quality customer service. And that's really what the organization is about and whenever you have individuals that do that on a daily basis, it not only makes me proud as a chief, but I think the community can be very proud,” said Fire Chief Woods.
