Date: December 18, 2013
RE: Lawsuit Filed against Eureka City Schools December 18, 2013
Eureka City Schools recognizes that our students come from varied and diverse backgrounds. In recent years, the District has implemented programs and established measures to address and educate students and staff about the backgrounds and needs of our student body. We have investigated and will continue to investigate claims of harassment and discrimination that are brought to our attention. At this time we are not aware of evidence to support the allegations. We do not tolerate harassment or discrimination, and we believe every student is entitled to a safe school environment free from discrimination, harassment, intimidation and bullying. As a District we take the allegations seriously, and we are actively investigating the charges to determine the facts. The well-being of our students continues to be a top priority for Eureka City Schools.
