UPDATE: Hoopa boy in critical condition after hit by pick-up truck
HOOPA- The five-year-old boy who was struck by a vehicle is listed in critical but stable condition at a Bay Area Hospital. CHP officers said it happened Friday just before 6 p.m. when David Drake of Hoopa was traveling southbound on Highway 96 near Marshall Lane and hit the five-year-old child.
Officers said the boy crossed into the path of the pick-up truck and was then struck. He was transported to a local hospital with major injuries and later transported to Oakland Children’s Hospital. According to the CHP DUI does not appear to be a factor and the cause is still under investigation.
