UPDATE: Humboldt Hill shooting victim in stable condition

EUREKA- The victim of the shooting in Eureka earlier this week is in stable condition.

The shooting took place in the Humboldt Hill area when a 26-year-old man told police he heard a knock on his door just before midnight on Monday, opened the door, and was shot by a man with a shotgun near his left arm. When police arrived, they determined the suspect had fled the scene and are currently still searching for a suspect.  

The suspect is described by the victim as a male, possibly hispanic, in his late teens or early twenties.  He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray pants and a black bandana covering his face.
