TRINIDAD- There are three open seats in the Trinidad City Council Race, but only one candidate is going to be on the November ballot.
That candidate is current City Council Member Jim Baker. Another current member of the council, Dwight Miller, did not qualify to go on the ballot, because one of the signatures on his nomination paper was not from a registered voter. Now, Miller must be a write-in candidate, as candidates can no longer file to be on the November ballot.
If only two people end up applying for the three open positions, after the election, the council will select someone to step in. That person has to be a registered voter who lives in Trinidad.
