MCKINLEYVILLE - The United States District Court for the Northern District of California has officially made it's new home in McKinleyville.

A dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony was held this morning at the new courthouse on Boeing Avenue. Speakers gave recognition to numerous federal officials, building officials and the planning department. The ribbon was cut by Chief Judge of the Northern District, Phyllis Hamilton.

Officials take great pride in the historic murals they've preserved from the previous location in Eureka, that are now displayed in the new courthouse.

"I have watched the inception from the groundbreaking, the building of, and it’s been very exciting to see the structure come up. So I think it's beautiful on the inside and I'm fascinated by all of the history that's on the walls," said McKinleyville Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, Julie Lee.
