CARLOTTA - California Highway Patrol responded to a vehicle over the embankment around 11 a.m. Monday. The incident occurred on Highway 36 east of Carlotta.
The male driver reportedly drove his 2003 Hyundai Elantra about 100 feet off the roadway. It is unknown why he crashed. He was able to walk back up to the roadway and get help.
CHP had to shut down the roadway for about a half hour to retrieve the vehicle. The driver only received minor scrapes.
