EUREKA– A Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputy apprehended a wanted felon after the man jumped from his moving truck in the Eureka Mall trying to avoid law enforcement.
Arrested was 39-year-old Steven Stolberg from Eureka. Authorities recognized Stolberg as having a no-bail felony warrant for his arrest and initiated a traffic stop. The suspect drove into the WINCO parking lot then leaped from his moving truck. The deputy gave chase on foot and captured Stolberg. The moving vehicle crashed into a curb and then rolled backwards damaging the patrol car.
Stolberg was arrested on the warrant and additionally charged with resisting arrest and driving on a suspended license. He is being held without bail.
