Wanted Fields Landing man arrested near Trinity County
Trinity County line - A wanted Fields Landing man has been arrested near the Trinity County line carrying a double bladed ax.
Taken into custody was 32-year-old Joseph Scott Huff Anderson. Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies received an anonymous call saying a man was walking on Highway 299 in camouflage clothing and carrying an ax. A warrant check revealed Anderson was wanted for possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication.
Authorities tried to take him into custody but Anderson refused, dropped the ax and tried to walk away. Eventually he was apprehended. A search discovered a small amount of alleged methamphetamine and two glass smoking pipes.
Anderson was booked into the Humboldt County jail for: possession of illicit drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and providing false identification to police to avoid arrest. Bail was set at $30,000.
