Wildfires Costing U.S. Forest Service Millions

Over $36 million dollars has been spent so far to help fight the wildfires burning in Northern and Eastern Humboldt. 
The Salmon Complex Fire burning near the community of Sawyers Bar has cost the U.S. Forest Service $18 million dollars to contain. As for the Butler Fire, the largest still burning, the U.S. Forest Service says they’ve poured $18.5 million dollars into crews, helicopters, and water tenders. 
A community meeting for the Butler Fire is scheduled for Wednesday, August 21 at 4pm at the Forks of Salmon Community Center.
