Woman pursuing a purse snatcher crashes into a truck in Eureka

Eureka - Traffic was stopped for nearly an hour after a Eureka woman pursuing a man on a bicycle accidentally ran a stop sign and crashed into a truck.

Just before 2:30 this afternoon, the victim was parked near St. Bernard’s High School and observed a man break into her Subaru sedan and allegedly steal her purse. She pursued him in her vehicle south on C Street and unknowingly ran a stop sign crashing into a Nissan Frontier going east on Harris. The alleged thief got away but is described as a white male around 30 year old, 6’0” 150-pounds, raggedly dressed wearing a shirt, jeans and a back pack.

All victims in the crash escaped serious injury. The incident is still under investigation.
