Yurok Tribe breaks ground on Visitors Center
KLAMATH- The Yurok Tribe broke ground on a multi-million dollar project that the tribe hopes will stimulate the economy and bring visitors into the area. The tribe has began work on a visitor's center and amphitheater within Redwood National and State Parks.
The 3,500 square-foot center will be built in downtown Klamath on the corner of Klamath Blvd. and Klamath Circle. The tribe expects to be completed with the project by August 2014.
The tribe hopes the project will bring in outdoor enthusiasts, commercial anglers and international travelers. The tribe hopes the project will stimulate the local economy and bring more jobs to tribal members.
