24-year-old Katherine Zacevich was found walking away from the vehicle when a deputy arrived.

She was only wearing pants and seemed to be under the influence.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office said the woman then ignored the deputy and tried to leave the scene.

When they tried to detain her, Zacevich started to kick the deputy.

She then tried to run away and jumped into a slough.

CHP officers and Fortuna Police came to the scene to assist.

Zacevich was found swimming in the slough, east of the power plant.

When Zacevich came out of the slough, she continued to resist being detained.

Once in custody she was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Zacevich will be booked into the Humboldt County Jail for vandalism and assault of a peace officer once released from the hospital.

The deputy sustained minor injuries.
