Bomb threat in Old Town Eureka

EUREKA – An alleged disgruntled tenant threatens to blow up a building in downtown Eureka..

Tuesday morning around 10:45 officers responded to an apartment building on the 300-block of E Street. Police say a man barricaded himself in his room and threatened to detonate an explosive device. Several residents on the fourth floor of the building were evacuated.

EPD officials negotiated with the tenant who surrendered and the situation was resolved safely. No bomb was found and the man was transported out of the building by medical personnel.
