Six Rivers National Forest Has Fires On All Fronts

six-rivers-national-forest-has-fires-all-frontsSIX RIVERS NATIONAL FOREST – With wildfires on all fronts, Six Rivers National Forest Officials are doing all they can to keep people and structures safe.

Thursday evening the command of the Orleans Complex that was controlled by NorCal Team 1 transitioned to SoCal team 3 led by incident commander Mike Wakoski. The Orleans Complex is now almost 5,300 acres and is 14% contained. The ten bear trailhead leading to the marble mountains is now closed. Hikers wanting to access the wilderness should call the us forest service at their Orleans Ranger District for updated info on affected trails.

Officials are also keeping a sharp eye on the Ruth Complex of fires in the Mad River Ranger District. That complex is nearly 2,000 acres and is 10% contained. One fire within the Ruth Complex is the Secret Fire at 55 acres. It is threatening structures at this time.

Six Rivers National Forest remains under fire restrictions.
