Freshman move in day at HSU

ARCATA – Today was freshman move in day at Humboldt State University. With almost 12,000 expected in the upcoming class campus was pretty busy today.

Today the new Lumberjacks spent the day getting settled into their new home. After checking in students went to take student ID photo, test out their dorm key, and learn about the campus. Different campus clubs were set up giving out information, as well as local grocery stores and restaurants showing off their options for students. With so much going on the new students were busy getting everything together in hopes of getting off to a good start at HSU.

About 40% of the new students are coming from Los Angeles, 52% are from low income families, and 59% are first-generation students.

Fall semester begins on August 21st.
