CRESCENT CITY – Crescent City will have a new city hall after a recent decision by the city council to purchase a new property.

In a 5-0 vote, the old Bank of America building on H Street will be converted into the new city hall. Officials say the total price for the building will be a little over $200,000. It is anticipated it will take a year to 18-months before the new building can be opened up for business. It may also be an office for the City Housing Authority.

The purchase made more sense than continuing on with a planned remodel of the current lobby that was going to cost $54,000. The new facility will also have 10,000 square feet, nearly twice the amount in the current building, has 32 more parking spaces and is on the ground floor. The current city hall has stairs and no elevator.
