FRESHWATER – Kids took a leap at Freshwater Park for the Discovery Museum’s first ever Kids’ Plunge.

Similar to the Perilous Plunge, kids formed teams and came dressed in costumes ranging from Spiderman to the five emotions from Pixar’s Inside Out.

After a quick stretch to prevent cramping, the kids lined up to take the jump while friends and family members looked on.
Plungers raised hundreds of dollars for Eureka’s Discovery Museum that offers interactive educational activities for children.

Executive Director Kala Minkley said, “We like the idea that the kids of our community are involved in the organizations that serve them. And all of the kids here were very excited to raise money for the museum and they got to talk to people in the community about the museum and what we do and support us that way so it was really fun for them.”

Minkley added that the museum hopes to make the Kids’ Plunge an annual event.
