Attorney Faces Two Misdemeanors For Possessing Gun At Courthouse

criminal-justice-humboldt-county-caEUREKA – A local attorney will face two misdemeanor charges after courthouse security found a gun in his briefcase.

When screeners found the pistol Tuesday morning, Andrew Stunich claimed he forgot he was carrying it. The Sheriff’s Office seized the weapon and forwarded the case to the District Attorney’s Office. The DA charged Stunich with carrying a loaded firearm and possession of a firearm in a public building.

According to the initial release from the Sheriff’s Office both charges could have been felonies.
