man-shot-during-marijuana-transactionHOOPA – A high speed pursuit on Highway 96 lasts about 10 minutes Friday morning

Right around 11AM, a call came in from a concerned neighbor of the Campbell Field Housing Apartment Complex in Hoopa, when they thought they heard a gunshot come from one of the apartments.

The witness said they then saw a subject leave quickly after the shot was heard.

A nearby deputy saw the vehicle and tried to stop him, but the male suspect didn’t stop and a chase ensued, reaching up to 100 miles per hour on Highway 96.

CHP also got involved in the chase.

Meanwhile, another deputy went to check on the potential victim, thought to be the suspect’s girlfriend.

She was found to be fine, but did not cooperate when asked for details about the incident.

Law enforcement did not determine there was a crime committed and the pursuit was terminated for safety reasons.
