EUREKA – It’s the first day back to school for College of the Redwoods.

It’s an exciting time for students and faculty – with new faces and new curriculum, including a new Auto Body Collision Repair course.

As of last year, CR saw an increase in enrollment by 1% and hopes to continue the upward trend.

Right now, the school is preparing for an accreditation visit in October.

CR Preisdent Keith Snow-Flamer says he feels the school is as strong as it’s ever been since he arrived eleven years ago.

He shared with us his message for incoming students.

“This is their time to explore and figure out where they want to be and what they want to do with the rest of their lives,” said President Snow-Flamer, “This is a magical time and I really encourage students to study hard, and explore and find their way through life and see how we can help them.”

“I’m really excited and also really nervous because I don’t really know exactly what I’m doing and i don’t know where anything is and it’s a much bigger campus than any high school,” explained freshman, Sara Anderson, “but I’m excited to be here and experience something new. I’m just excited to learn and grow with these people and find a way to move forward in life.”
