Giddings to serve 52 years for murder and assault charges

EUREKA – A man convicted of the 2nd degree murder of Trevor Mark Harrison will conceivably spend the rest of his life behind bars.

38-year old Billy Joe Giddings was sentenced to 52 years. He was convicted this past June for second degree murder with special allegations of four counts of assault with a firearm.

In May of 2015, Giddings shot Harrison during a marijuana transaction as he was entering a residence. During testimony, Giddings said Harrison had pointed a gun at him but that was refuted by multiple witnesses.

Giddings will have to serve all 52 years before he can be paroled.
