16,900 acre Helena Fire containment rises to 40%

TRINITY COUNTY – Progress is being made on the destructive Helena Fire in Trinity County.

Since Thursday night, the fire grew by about 800 acres, and is only one half of a mile away from combining with the 3,400 acre Fork Fire.

However, the Helena Fire containment has gone up from 30% to 40%.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but is believed to be human-caused.
