ARCATA – The Humboldt Bay Trial is almost completed and with about 20% of the project left to go the community is ready to start trying it out.

The main tasks that now remain are paving, as well as installing bridges and signs. As of now the completion date of the 3 mile long trail is set for early October. Construction for the trail began at the beginning of May and the Assistant City Engineer of Arcata, Netra Khatri, says they were very fortunate to not have any weather delays over the summer. He says that people have already been out using the trail even though construction is not complete and that throughout the entire project the community has been very supportive. Paving is scheduled to begin on September 18th and should take about a week.
