Blue Lake’s cannabis regulations nearly complete

BLUE LAKE – Blue Lake is close to finalizing regulations on recreational cannabis.
Members will hold a first reading of the ordinance that prohibits cannabis sales and places limits on personal cultivation that California voters legalized last November.
New regulations allow up to six plants and require permits and inspections. Growing outdoors in the open is not allowed. But the
ordinance does allow greenhouses, addressing community concerns that banning them would increase energy consumption. Residents will be responsible for odor control and keeping plants out of visible range of streets and neighbors.
Tuesday night’s meeting starts at 6:00 in the Skinner Store Building behind City Hall.
