Missing elderly woman found trapped in vehicle

PRAIRIE CREEK STATE PARK – An elderly woman is reunited with her family after going missing.

70-year-old Susan Minx of Crescent City was driving to Eureka on Wednesday and never arrived.

On Sunday just after noon, a National Parks Fire Crew searching Prairie Creek State Park found Minx who was trapped in her Mitsubishi Montero with her two dogs.

They were 50 yards down an embankment off of Highway 101.

She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The CHP, U.S. Forest Service, and State Parks Service also aided in the search.
