Trinidad considers commercial cannabis ban

TRINIDAD – Trinidad City Council may ban all commercial cannabis activities.

Staff will present a draft ordinance to regulate cannabis before state guidelines take effect in January.

The ordinance would allow growing of up to six plants and allow cannabis deliveries.

The staff report states that odor and the possibility for increased crime are concerns when it comes to outdoor grows, so it is prohibited in the current draft.

If adopted, Trinidad would be ineligible for state grants from the marijuana tax.

The meeting is Wednesday night at 6:00 at Trinidad Town Hall.
