EUREKA – Business owners are giving their input to the Bureau of Land Management concerning public land use.

This week business owners across Northern California submitted a letter with 101 signatures to the Redding and Arcata field offices of the Bureau of Land Management urging the agency to protect unique public lands. The bureau is updating their resource management plans and business owners want to make sure the large amount of outdoor recreation remains available to tourists. Eureka business owner, Martin Swett, says outdoor recreation is very important in this area and a large reason why so many people come to visit.

California generates $85.4 billion in outdoor recreation consumer spending, more than any other state in the county.
