Humboldt Bay Wildlife Refuge hosts weekend hunt blind brush-up

Eureka, Ca., (KIEM)- Saturday September 30, is National Public Lands Day, so the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge is giving visitors the opportunity to volunteer and engage.

“We’re celebrating national public lands day at Humboldt Bay National Wildlife refuge by doing a hunt blind brush up.” Denise Seeger, who works on the refuge, says, “The waterfowl hunt portion of the refuge has a lot of blinds and every year they need some brushing up.”

Volunteer workers should arrive at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The work will continue until noon, with tools and snacks provided. Volunteers should bring water and boots. Large groups should RSVP by emailing kaula_wesler@fws.gov or call 707-733-5406.
