Inmate who walked away from Southern Humboldt camp taken into custody

WEOTT – An inmate who walked away from the High Rock Conservation Camp in Southern Humboldt is back in custody.

27-year-old David Carter was located just before 5 Monday evening by a motorist on Highway 101 two miles south of Redcrest.

Carter walked away from the California Correctional Center High Rock Conservation Camp on Sunday evening.

He was taken into custody without incident and will be transported to Susanville.

Carter is no longer be eligible to be housed in a conservation camp.
