Doctor appointed to evaluate Kimberly Felder’s mental status

EUREKA – After entering a not guilty by reason of insanity plea, Kimberly Felder was back in court Tuesday to hear who would conduct her psychological evaluation.
Kimberly Ann Felder is accused of repeatedly striking her 11 year old daughter on Centerville beach in June. The child survived the alleged attack with the help of bystanders and Felder was taken in to custody.
The mother of three faces multiple charges including attempted murder.
Felder will be evaluated by Doctor Roof and a second doctor to be determined at a hearing scheduled for October 17th.
45-year-old Felder is still being held at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on $600,000 bail.
