Jacoby Creek named Blue Ribbon School

BAYSIDE – A Bayside elementary school joins a list of only twenty-five campuses statewide to be honored as Blue Ribbon Schools.
The U.S. Department of Education recognized Jacoby Creek School for its achievement in learning and it’s the only North Coast school to receive the award this year.
Jacoby Creek’s 462 students range in age from 4 to 14 and are supported by nearly sixty staff members as well as parents.
Principal Nannizzi said that while students excel academically, the school also focuses on creating partnerships with families and community groups to enhance classroom learning.
Jacoby Creek School Principal Melanie Nannizzi said, “It shows that the things we’re doing are working. Times are changing. Things are changing., we want to stay up with the times but that what we’re doing at our school is working. Kids are learning. People are a part of this community, and this honor shows us that we’re going in the right direction.”
