Injured Fortuna football player improving

OAKLAND- A Fortuna football player continues to improve at a Bay Area hospital.

Bailey Foley is showing movement in both his arms and legs. He even greets people by waving and does the peace sign when they leave his room at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland.

The 17 year-old Foley sustained a stroke during the huskies season opener August 25 at Cardinal Newman High School.

Bailey’s mom Tara Johnson told News Channel 3 their thoughts and prayers go out to Cardinal Newman and to everyone impacted by the fire in Santa Rosa.

The school is closed after classrooms, the library and main office burned to the ground. She said the entire community supported us and now we need to do the same for them.
