Eureka Visitor’s Center opens at Clarke Museum in Old Town

Eureka, Ca., (KIEM)- For at least the next five years the City of Eureka will allow Humboldt Made to run a visitor’s center inside the Clarke Museum. The center will be a hub for tourism in the area, and should help provide direction to visitors.

“City council voted unanimously in favor of our project and its been a lot of long nights but we are very happy to be where we’re at.” Alanna Powell, the executive director of Humboldt Made explained. “If the city can increase tourism, that bed tax (that TOT tax) goes directly into our general fund the more we can increase that the more funding is available for schools for police, for everything else we desperately need.”
