Second graders fundraising pays off

Some local second graders showed the community that big hearts come in many sizes.

Mr. Richards class from Ridgewood Elementary in Cutten raised $3,000 over the weekend fundraising around the community. The idea came during one of his morning meeting with his students when he decided they wanted to help aid fire relief efforts in Northern California.

On Sunday the entire class spread out across Humboldt County with baked goods and lemonade, collecting donations.

And their hard work paid off, all the money they raised is being donated directly to families in need.
