Humboldt Bay Trail almost open!

ARCATA – the Humboldt Bay trail has been pretty popular recently, even though it’s not quite open, but should be in less than a month.

Doby Class started working on this project in 2000 and is looking forward to officially opening the five mile trail which stretches from the Arcata Skate Park to along Highway 101. Everyone working on this project says everyone is very excited about this trail they’ve wanted for so long

All that’s left now is some handrails and cushions for the bridges, as well as striping and signage for the path.

Class says he thinks the trail will not only be a great recreational addition but also a big public health improvement in the city of Arcata

Though it’s not quite finished that’s not stopping anyone from getting out and enjoying the trail.

Class says they’re looking into bike rentals for the trail for people to enjoy at the grand opening.

The trails tentative grand opening date is set for November 19.
