Humboldt County Supervisors approve 1.5 million in budget adjustments

EUREKA – The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors approved over a million dollars in budget adjustments on Tuesday, and unanimously passed budgets for special districts – including for fire protection agencies.

About 1.5 million dollars that was intended for projects during the 2016-2017 financial year went unused during that time due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Carry Forward budget adjustments made today will re-direct those funds back into projects –  such as for upgrading permitting software for the Planning and Building Department and for purchasing new vehicles and firearms for the Sheriff’s Office.

Supervisors also approved budgets for special districts managed by the county – including Fortuna Fire, Loleta Fire, and Whitethorn Fire districts, among other lighting and maintenance districts.
