Eureka’s Manzo earns CIF State Spirit Sport Award

EUREKA- A state honor for a member of the Eureka football team. Senior running back Sergio Manzo is a leader both on and off the field. That’s why he was selected with the male CIF Spirit of Sport Award.

Manzo will be honored April 6, at an awards dinner in San Jose. He’ll receive a trophy and $1,000.

The award recognizes students who show good sportsmanship, school and community service and leadership.

Manzo and his Eureka teammates are enjoying a great season. The 8-0 Loggers are atop the Big 5 Conference. While thankful for the honor, Manzo said it’s a team effort.
