Mother and son stabbed in Eureka; EPD seeking witnesses

EUREKA – Two people were stabbed in Eureka, and the victims were related.
Police responded to the Adorni Center on Waterfront Drive just before 9:00 Saturday night for a reported assault.
They found two victims in the parking lot and learned that a woman and her son were allegedly involved in an altercation, then stabbed by Grant Warner Anderson. Officers found the 33-year-old with a knife and took him in to custody.
One of the victims was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The other declined treatment.
When being interviewed at the station, Anderson became resistant and damaged city property.
He was booked on $500,000 bail for attempted murder, resisting arrest and vandalism.
Investigators believe a man and woman who were parked in a Suburban or Econo-Van may have witnessed the crime and are asked to come forward.
